Are you saying that shortening the barrel from 22" to carbine length you will loose 2ft.lbs m e? I thought it was the other way. Shortening the barrel gave you a slight increase in velocity.
I seem to remember an article in AGW in the 1980s where they did a comparison between the standard length barrel '35 and the Export 22" and all the velocities in the longer barrel were lower.

I may be wrong. (My wife says I often am )

Aye, but notice he couldn't get the muzzles in the same photo - because they're probably in the next room.

I know you can use them for drey poking and you can't African carry with a sling - but it makes them so sweet to shoot...

Dont get me wrong my Jubile model in blue Laminate stock and the my Norman May Vixen standard models may point better but on looks alone the HW35 e stands out, lets be honest good looks do count in guns, girls cars etc.

Nah! Its because I couldn't reach that high. I suffer from Dwarfs Disease. I bash my arse when I get off a tall kerb. 4'12" in my high heels. They cant pile sh|t any higher!

I cant reach to photo a std length barrel http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Airs...ml?sort=6&o=57 Anyway we should all know what a '35 front sight looks like.

    Hi Ian
I think I misread T20 post thought he was moving from .22 to .177
Last year I bought a hw35e of a mate he had done a nice home tune
    On it
It came with a 13ins barrel fitted and was putting out 9.5 ft lbs
It also came with its original .22 barrel .i actually prefer springers
In 22 so I changed them over which gave 12.3 with hobby pellets
The lad I bought if of said he had a standard 19 ins barrel he would
Like to swap for the .177 so the deal was done I then swaped the
.22 barrels over expecting as you said to get a rise in ft lbs but
To my pleasant supprise it gave 11.8 at no time was the power plant
Touched this was on a 1986 gun I have another 35e 1978 that
Struggles to make 11.2 both these rifles have square section
Airsporter springs with a thick piston liner and are as smooth as
    Silk to cock
    Regards
    Les

I have found, in a variety of spring rifles (HW35, 80 and FWB Sport) a change of calibre usually involves a change of m e by approx 20% the .22 being more efficient.

    Hi Ian
    I have a fwb 124 doing 10.8 with air arms and 10.9 with r10 7grn pellets
Fitting a .22 barrel could be interesting I'm awaiting a kit from wonky donky
    I'll see how that goes

Well it doesn't seem to effect you shooting up at those 10M match cards Ian.
