    Sierra heads

My 1 in 12 Howa 223 loves Sierra 40 grain Blitzking using N133. Has anyone used them in 55grain and in a 1 in 12 with good results.

Sorry, didn't realise you meant blitzking.
Not with a howa but when I couldn't get 52gr Amax bullets I used the 55 sieras and they were acceptable. But not quite as good as the amax.

I now have a 1:8 and use the 69grs which are great and I've always used sierra bullets in my .243 and .308. I like they are consistent and always well made.

It is going to be interesting to see how the new sierra bullets with plastic tips shoot. Hope they aren't just in .308.
So yes, i did use 55s blitzking in my old .223 with very good results. And the 100gr gamekings in my .243. As above, I don't think you can go wrong with Sierra bullets. Its the make (along with lapua brass and viht powders) I suggest people go with when they start reloading.

    Hi BBF
My 12 twist tikka staple diet is 55 grn SKB's - they are a very accurate and hard hitting bullet.

Here is a video I filmed last week using SKB and Vmax in my 223 --- its quite dull so be warned

are you worried about the twist or the bullet?

I shoot 60gr through a 1:14 so you should be absolutely fine

    Hi Paul.
Last lot I got from Valley Arms in Ruthin. Usually Steve at Trent Firearm has a healthy supply of them - but its a bit of a trek.
If your struggling to find any - I have box or two that you can buy. £24 each - thats what they cost me.

It took a lot of trial and error to get the 40grain to tack. I was worried that in the 1 in 12 twist barrel they wouldn't perform as they should.
I have got some other 55 grain heads in black (not sure of the make) that I wasn't sure of developing due to availability.

    They be Noslers,
The toxicity of lead varies, depending upon the weight of its doseage and its velocity!

I don't reload, but the 55gr Winchester Silver Ballistic tip rounds are crazy accurate out of my 1 in 12 .223.

Just checking - when you talk about heads..... do I assume that you mean bullets?
