    BSA Superstar .22 Pellets

    Hi guys,

I've had a lovely old BSA Superstar Mk2 (springer) for a year or two now and have recently had it fully tuned so it's shooting consistently at 11.3ft/lbs. It's smooth as silk to shoot but I don't believe I've found the right pellet for it as my groupings are larger than what I'm happy with.

I've tried H&N FTT 5.52, Bisley Wasps and Bisley Magnums.

What pellets have you chaps used and had success with in your Superstars?

    Cheers!

We sometimes expect more from these older guns as a result of shooting modern ones?

My Goldstar shoots objects well, but not paper targets ,and I have tried many pellets.

My grandaughter calls our goldfish Tunafish.
She is puzzled by your handle!

Before the tune it was shooting very well on paper, and it was shooting at 6.1ft/lbs
Ha! I am proud to be named after a fish. I hope I live up to it!

And thank you, I'll try and borrow some Superdomes and give them a whirl!
I've got a friend lending me some JSB Exacts to see how they shoot. If they're not great I will try Superdomes.

    Cheers!

    That's annoying!
Hope you find pellets that work.

    I am getting a .177 Superstar soon.
Interesting to see how I get on.

My superstar would not group with anything so gave the barrel a good clean and then shot a very nice group with H&N ftt's so stuck with them
    A few nice rifles

All my BSAs have done well with H&N pointed in either coppa point or plain lead flavour.
The South of England has 2 good things, the M1 and the A1. Both will take you to Yorkshire.

I've got a .22 Mk5 meteor barrel on a Lightning action, that'll probably be pretty much the same barrel blank as used in a Superstar. It likes RWS Superdomes & Air Arms Fields equally, & rather unexpectedly SMK own brand B55 Black domed do rather well too.

Clean barrel with 009 whipping twine and napier rifle clean

Pellet wise I'd put money on Superdome or Bisley Superfield
Looking for TO-6 Trigger unit unmessed with or T0-6 kit for 34
