Just look at how many horror stories you read about BSA guns.

The mk 1 had its problems but I don't read too many problems with the mk2, its a fine gun in my opinion.

And I reckon they are a load of rubbish apart from those concerning the very early MKI
I have noticed ones one of those stories make the rounds everyone and their dog will repeat them as gospel
They seem to follow popular opinion rather than speak from experience
Also there are guys out there who had problems with their HW 100's

I put off buying a R10 for years because of those stories
Biggest load of crap I have ever listened to

The HW is a very nice gun but shot count and looks swung it to the R10 for me

    Had both , got rid of the HW100 to get a R10 mk1 and a 1/2.
Got rid of the R10 to get a Daystate and then another HW100.
The R10 when it works is an excellent rifle with a high shot count and good looks.
The HW100 has a seemingly faultless magazine system , easy cocking but less shot count and not quite as attractive.
However accuracy of both rifles is good, but I still own a HW100.

Just sold my HW100KS and bought an R10 MK2 ultra carbine. Both perform equally. R10 has more shots per fill which is a bonus!

i used to manage a gun shop,we never had a mk2 r10 returned for warranty work.we had plenty of hw100's returned.
personally i would have neither and would go for an s410.

I have a mk2 r10 and can't fault it. Go to a shop and shoulder them both to make your mind up.

I've had a few of both. Ended up with HWs but wouldn't blame anyone for going for an R10, especially when it's been to one of the gurus.
It's all personal choice mate, just go for the one that feels right.

I just got an r-10 black pepper and it is a cracking gun and shoots spot on. Go for the r-10 mate. Must say I do like the hw100 but the r-10 over powered it for me. Glad it did cracking gun.

Had both and I'd say HW100. R10 looks cool but accuracy wise I found the 100 beat it at longer ranges at targets. I currently have a TDR that out shoots the R10 again over 45 yards.

Am now looking at a new HW100 laminate preferably an adjusty cheek piece one as they've appeared at BAR. Of the guns I've owned the ones I wish it'd never sold are my 100 and my old old HW35 that my old man bought me as a first gun. The 100 is a dream piece of kit IMHO. Mind you I confess to luvin my TDR now it's been lovingly fettled.
