Cheap press with a hollow ram?

    Gents,

im after a cheap press with a hollow ram to use as a dedicated decapper.

i have a RCBS rockchucker that is wonderful but I hTe having to clean abrasive primer grit from the grease on the ram after decapping, it feels like lapping paste...

Does the c frame Lee press have a hollow ram?

i think the classic cast press does have a hollow ram, it's just a bit bulkier and more expensive than I would have wanted for a dedicated decapping press.

Thats what I use as a decapper with a universal die, the ram has a channel machined and unlike the video the primers are directed into the base of the press , not the best idea, but they are contained.

Lee hand press has a cavity in the ram that catches primers, holds about 20 large iirc. Handy wee thing, I do nearly all my loading on one now.

This is what I use as my dirty press, only thing is the primers fall inside and fill up. I tape o er the hole and have a bin under the bench to catch the crud. I only use it with a universal decal die then brass goes into the ultra sonic then tumbled before I neck size, prime then its to the 3 stage preas

i cant be arsed using a press for decapping

I just use a manual decapping pin from the lee loader now
whizz through a box of 200 cases in a few mins
do them at a rate of about 1 every 2 seconds!!
