Maybe they think you might be making a new gun from spare parts.

    Hi, I've had the same.
Go to your local rfd. Mine price matched Chambers and didn't charge p&p.
Might also be worth a wanted ad here.

It is indeed a result of the VCRA.

By exchanging the cylinder it is classed as a repair so can be posted directly to you. Otherwise they are correct, it must go to an RFD.

I wonder if one could send in a carbine tube and ask for a classic tube in return. It's literally a stretch of the imagination to repair the tube by making it 100mm longer.

'Repair' is just a euphemism as the VCR Act originally stated that certain parts MUST be a 'Face to face' transaction as with complete airguns.

The original VCR Act was amended to allow businesses such as Chambers, Knibbs, Protek, etc to post specific parts that were restricted by this act.

Sending the old part counts as 'face to face' under the Act, simples really.

I am certain that all these companies have lost a lot of business due to this irrational and short sighted legislation and that blaming them for the idiocy of government vote garnering is a bit harsh
