    Lightbulb Rangefinder Battery

    Nikko Stirling 6x25 Rangefinder

Which way should the battery be installed Positive + DOWN or UP ????. Battery is a chubby little round battery 3volt CR2

Have not used it for a while & cannot find instructions, even on Nikko Stirling website.

    Thanks for helping

Generally smooth side down, if it doesn't work try it the other way up

    Question Battery

    Hi
Was concerned that putting the battery in "upside down" would permanently damage the unit (reverse polarity & all that good stuff) so was hoping someone who actually owns one would answer my query so that I got it right first time.

    Battery

Sorry. Wrong model. That model takes AA batteries.
My earlier model "vertically held" takes a chubby CR2 3 volt battery. On the Nikko stirling site there is a download but it does not state which way the battery should be installed & there are no helpful markings on the rangefinder case.

Here's the manual for the other one: http://www.nikkostirling.com/Images/...3%20MANUAL.pdf

But as you say, it doesn't show how to fit the battery

I've not seen a battery device without the +/- info printed or moulded somewhere in the battery compartment, or on the lid / trap door...

If you could show a photo of the battery compartment & lid it might help, you can generally work out what's what by the arrangements of the contacts & the battery.
Most of the button cells seem to have a positive casing & a negative base.
