Guess I way lucky , I put a wanted ad up for a Webly Vulcan , he replied saying he had one and a deal was struck.
For me he acted perfect , arrived in super quick time and was packed very well.

He's not a thief, just a weirdo, eccentric dealer so he has to sell some stuff to make profit. It's just his behaviour and manner... He's not the collector he makes out to be.

He is notorious for this and I don't know how he manages to stay on here.. He always danced along the line of a trader and a collector with a huge collection. for me he as always been out to get the largest profit possible and is thus a trader..

I don't know how he survives here when others don#ts

Dave, most people on here would, I would have been happy with having the gun back and him having the £200.

There is no way I would have accepted the extra £100 from you but then again I prefer the value of friendship.

Time wasters are really annoying as are people who don't have the courtesy to respond to PMs or use basic manners when asking for help. Luckily idiots like this are few and far between but still more than you would like to see on this fine forum.

Well Barrel, that's a shame.... he will be as nice a pie with you when he wants something, but should you aska small favour from him... He suddenly becomes very cold/rude.. In my case, it was asking for a picture of his Bowkett gun...Which he was pretending to have no idea about and was wanting advice... He rudely refused...

I know John Bowkett well and he knows Camcoll well too...

I was' nt awear that Camcol had a reputation as an eccentric , I thought it was me . my first experiance came when I was buying an airlogic rifle of him . He said he had one but had to figure out how much he wanted . He gave me a rough price , because two of my friends where going near his house we agreed we would dissguse a price when I got there. On arivel he seemed fine showing me an array of gun and telling me how much he would sell them for. The airlogic would have left me broke at the time but I could afford some of the others . He said he eould let me take thelotand pay him later . Notbeing a guy who would do that sort of thing . I mean I only buy what I can afford . I said I couldnt but agreed to buy a Sharp Pan target . When I got home I emailed him to thank him and say how I enjoyed the day , only to be told he did not like how I acted and I shouldnt have done that etc so I asked ehat I had done to him exactly , he never replied ... I emailed him several times asking the same wuestion still mo answer . Same with the vitory .

I put it down to the fact he is a bit far out there . After all I could have taken 3 or 4 different rifles off of him and never paid him . I did buy a gun , it was himself that confussed the deal by keep on getting differnt guns out he wanted to sell me . Thanks for all the posts on here because it finaly answers my question , and the answer is bonkers .

He's let you down a few times but you should just put it down to experience.

Thankfully the majority of forum users are thoroughly decent people with a common objective who are willing to help, advise and support others.

We're also lucky as the mods on here are proactive and deal with issues like this when they become aware of them.
