    Resizing Hornet K brass.

I was asked a question last night by a new shooter, he's just got his ticket and has a .22lr and .22 Hornet, he's bought a .22lr and is looking for a Hornet, he's been given several hundred Hornet K brass and asked me if the brass could be resized to standard .22 Hornet configuration, I wasn't sure and told him I would ask the font of all shooting knowledge, so there you have it, is it possible?

I would say no, it might be possible but not without over working the brass. If you think about it, you're stretching the brass to make it Hornet K then trying to compress it back to standard

I'll swap him for standard hornet brass.

I've got 50 unfired S&B and another 45 mostly Remington sat here.

I did by mistake put a K case in my standard die to de prime it but it was too hard to fit in & jammed.

He shot that roo with a hornet!!

Awesome calibre, keep thinking about 'K'aying mine but it shoots so well as it is.

In line with your findings AB my hornet is producing higher velocity from its pet load than given by hodgdon
    Thanks for looking

Anneal the necks + a bit, load and fire in the standard hornet.
It's exactly the same as fire forming any other brass.

Except that the K is fire formed from the std so is too big & the wrong shape to fit the Hornet breech.
as per the photo in #2 K is on the right.
