Rekord trigger strip, polish and rebuild

As requested

I have done videos showing how to strip, polish and rebuild a Rekord trigger.

I had to split it into 2 parts as it was too long to do in one go.

I am not sure as I am entirely happy with the videos so please let me know what you think and if they are not up to scratch I will have another go at a later date

I set the camera up really close - so it was very hard to keep my hands in shot while I was making the video. Managed it for most of the time though

It looks easy when you have edited out the swearing and dropping the tiny parts cos you have sausage fingers more like

Any comments on relube of the trigger unit post polishing?

All I have done is used a very small amount of Bisley gun oil. and I do mean small amount!

It feels lovely now.... mind you I did end up doing the whole thing twice as the first time I tried it, my hands were out of shot for 80% of the video lol

Do you use any lube on the final assembly or does it run dry ?

You made it look quite easy ......not as bad as i thought .......i used to have to strip my ruger 1022 almost every weekend trying out different spring rates etc.. that all stopped when i got the kidd trigger.

A trigger just seems to me to be something that requires a light oil rather than a thick grease. Bearing in mind that if it feels wrong I will take it apart again and make it feel better, there seems no point in lubing it up with thick stuff that you might use when something is never going to be inspected again.

The most i've to the 2 i have is giving them a blast with brake cleaner to remove the set honeylike grease that seemed to be inside ...... job number 1 for tonight

Thanks Neil it looked a lot easier whilst sitting up in bed watching you BUT! With ham fisted fingers and dropsy I would still struggle but a very helpful video ,one that I have saved for later,many thanks but no music in the background

I've never had the need to strip a Weihrauch trigger, but if I ever need to in the future I'm sure I'll be checking out your vid's once again. Thanks Neil.

Excellent, just what I wanted to see. If you want to avoid lighting flare from shinny surfaces, like your laminated diagram, try two light sources at 45 degrees to the optical axis of the camera lens.
