    Webley mk3 peep sight question

I think I'm correct in saying that the Webley MK3 Super Target came with a Parker-Hale 17B peep sight but can anyone tell me which is the correct P-Hale peep sight for the standard MK3 which has the holes in place for a peep sight as I seem to remember that the 17B was a bit on the big side for the standard rifles ?

The Parker-Hale 16m was the sight fitted to the Webley Mk.III as a factory fitted option. It shares the same fixing base as the 17b as fitted to the Supertarget, so either can be fitted to a pre drilled action.
The PH 16m is preferred by many as it is a smaller sight and can be swung out of the way so standard sights can still be used.
There are many variations of the PH 16 sight, but only the 16m variant can be fitted to the Webley Mk.III.

Not at present, but there may well be one available in the near future once a price has been determined.
The PH16m is a lot more difficult to find than the PH17b, two of which are for sale in another BBS thread.
You will also need the correct two fixing screws, the thread of which I don't know.

Thanks for the offer Mark but I have several gauges for identifying threads and have a supplier of old style screws if necessary.

    Thumbs up

I bought an old mk3 Webley with a PH16m aperture sight fitted

It has something of a patina on it I'd thought aboput polishing it up and getting it reblued!!

The stock was split on the underside so I bought a later type that was black with age and muck!!

Couldn't believe the grain that was lurking below when I stripped it!!
