    Couldn't agree more !
This is true capitalism, but can the UK RFD's compete, or will they go running and squealing for a change in the law ?

im sure they would change laws in their favour if they could.there is a gunshop in holland
that sells the new co2 pistol, various names, such as airforce one trophy, and the snp1,its chinese
made in the snow peak factory ,they do a single and a multi shot version, and heres how much we get
ripped off, in holland, krale scheitsport, single shot version 79 euros,in uk £150 for the single shot.
    79 euros is around £57

I've got to agree, no point in buying from a UK RFD at the moment.
Think of it this way....you're a UK RFD, you buy your stock from the UK distributor - you probably pay in GBP's.
The UK distributor buys his stock from the manufacturer (Germany, for example)....he certainly pays in Euro's.
The Euro is weak against the GBP at the moment, so the UK distributor is "quids-in" - he buys in Euro's and sells in £'s!
I suspect the regular RFD is not the profiteer here, it's the UK distributor!!

I'm sure the UK trade is already very aware of the loophole in the VCR bill and are actively seeking more controls on airguns to close it.
God rest ye jelly mental men

    Yes me too unfortunately.

I thought I would get a HW99s from the local shop but it cost me £225 then when I looked on here and realised it was the old cocking arm unit I then had to get the new version from J Knibbs.

Just not worth the hassle and cost over here when you can do it all on the computer at home and have it delivered.

I know some will come on and say about warranties but they are no use to me as every gun I get is stripped straight away and tuned.

Most of them will still have warranties when bought from the EU with the added benefit of them arranging a courier to pick it up from your home.

and me,every gun gets a strip and a de burr and a proper lube, and tbh, there is not much
on an air rifle that can go wrong, maybe moreso on a pcp,but not a springer,so warranty
not really worth paper its written on to me.

well money may not be an issue to someone from surrey, but certainly
is to me.why should we be ripped of on every plain. if all the uk rfds shut
i shall still buy from europe, because its cheaper, better customer service,
and the guys that actually work in the german /dutch shops ,actually
want to be there, unlike the happy un informed souls that seem to work in
    a lot of uk gunshops.

The floodgates are open from EU like it or not, do we all honestly think the GTA had a meeting solely on trying to ban The Steyr S/A in particular or try and stop people buying from the EU from pellets to air rifles etc.
Its a case of compete or try to stop people voting with their pocket!!

The EU free trade laws will stop them doing that.

My local RFD is too expensive and has hardly any selection, he is almost £100 dearer than other dealers like SFS etc, luckily for me I'm not really interested in new rifles as I like old guns but if he is that much dearer than other UK dealers then I can understand why others go abroad, I don't mind paying £20-30 more for a rifle to help my local shop but £100 and a shitty service from the uninterested nipper who works in there, I'm not happy with.

    Pete
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in
