Small air rifle

Need a bit of help people, my 5 year old granddaughter is showing an interest in shooting so I would like to get hold of a small stocked air rifle that she could use. Have any of you got any ideas.

I have a Webley Junior air rifle owned by me from new!!!!

My grandson is 6 years old and not small but still can't hold this very small rifle yet.

I have decided it's too soon for him so will wait till he's a bit older.

How about a nice cheap Chinese SMK XS/QB78 CO2 rifle with a shortened stock? No recoil to speak of, so can be rested without adverse effects and a sound moderator will eliminate any flinch-inducing noise. Simple to maintain too...

How about a nice cheap Chinese SMK XS/QB78 CO2 rifle with a shortened stock? No recoil to speak of, so can be rested without adverse effects and a sound moderator will eliminate any flinch-inducing noise. Simple to maintain too...

Bit expensive, when you add in the gas, but it's not for every day and easy for her to use.

I have a 5 yrs old as well, and everything except XS15 or HW25 (and other 90cm rifles) will be too big for them. Even then, they are just slightly too long for them to hold as you want them to, but should be able to manage. They are definitely too heavy to shoot offhand... shooting rested and with scope they will have lots of fun. Might be too early to teach them iron sight at this stage.

I would go for the XS15, as it is a lot cheaper and there is very little difference between them (apart from the badge). See my other posts about junior rifles.

I've just seen a Brocock contour six in a shop, it's tiny, the new FX bullpup was above it on the wall and looked huge by comparison.

They do one in pink, but you'd have to do the pumping for her - which isn't an entirely bad thing in a lot of ways.
