Recommended non Weihrauch springers from the seventies, eighties and nineties?

Which of the older BSAs, Webleys, Originals would someone new to collecting find are still pleasant to shoot?

Power would not be an issue. 9.5 to 10 fpe would be sufficient. I imagine recommended calibre would be 22.

Love Weihrauchs but I'd like to hear about other guns for a change.

a properly sorted webley excel shoots lovely, but you see too many with
oversized mainsprings that take that away from them.cracking little
gun if you can find one that hasnt been fiddled with.

Webley Omega - so long as it's one of the later ones with the synthetic spring guide. Earlier ones had an ill-fitting steel guide and twang like a banjo!

Original 35 ,Anschutz 335, both great guns, any of the Bsf's, mk2 Airsporter the list goes on really, the first two named have better triggers than the others I've mentioned though

    70's Springers

Anschutz 335 or Original 35, even the Original 27 are well made, accurate with good triggers. They make 70's BSA's and Webleys look very poor in comparison.

However I have an Osprey Supertarget which is rather fun!

Well I had a Feinwerkbau Sport .22 in the late 70s,a well made, nicely balanced and accurate rifle let down by a mediocre trigger the blade of which was plastic and it also had a functional but plastic rear sight. If they(feinwerkbau) had put a trigger unit on it comparable to the Rekord unit and a metal rear sight it would have been a class leader and probably the no1 choice for any serious airgunner especially if it was to used for hunting/vermin control.I also had an Original Model 45 and 50 at the beginning of the 80s and later on a TheoBen Sirocco but I doubt if you'd find a good example now in full working order for sale. The Webley Viscount was a fairly well made gun and like any gun from that period if you can find a clean tidy example worth considering unless you're into restoring then condition is not prime consideration providing there's no serious damage e.g bent barrel or missing unobtainable parts.
