DUO 300 once called the poor man's FAS..for some illogical reason!

I guess because it looked a bit like that sweet pneumatic?

Target Sports of Bolton imported a batch of these direct from Italy in the mid 80's. I remember working on them and shall we just say I worked on them a lot. I remember there being no anti bear trap which made it 'inetersting' when working on a faulty trigger.

For collectors of the quirky, the Duo 300 is actually quite an interesting pistol with some unique features. It is the only springer with a hinged air cylinder that lifts up during cocking, and in addition the piston is pulled back by a telescoping pull rod, which extends to about twice its length at the extreme of the cocking stroke. While not exactly desirable as a quality shooter, if you want one of these for your collection they will be hard to find. They were only made over the period 1985-1988, and in addition they probably had a poor survival rate.
