I am going to do a strip and lube of my HW45 this weekend.. I have been given some black "CV Joint Grease" which I believe is Moly Grease.. But i can't be sure as its in a sachet which came with some CV boots...

not sure whether to use this, or go out and buy some Moly Grease.

    CVJ grease is Moly Grease.

It's likely more grease and less moly. While gun products are usually a higher moly content and higher flashpoint.

As the '45 likes to diesel like a bastard, I wouldn't use automotive moly grease in it myself.

So what grease should I use? There are plenty of grease sales on , but I get the feeling they have just bought a kg of CV grease and sell it off in little tins.

FWIW. I use Bisley gun grease. Also I use magic 9 design Moly paste. ATB. Pete.

    Good recommendations.

Other alternatives :- I have used V-Mach moly grease for the last few years; excellent stuff.

Also, Drake Tooling offer a huge range of moly based products, including some 60% paste which I bought last year. Very, very good.

The Rocol moly paste is even higher moly content (62%?), but is very expensive. A member on here recently acquired some and split it up as a group buy, making smaller quantities available. Reportedly brilliant. Not used it yet. Cheers, Slugger.
