Does anyone own either the gamo phox or gx40...what are your honest opinions of them straight out of the box?

    Great

    I have a GX40 in 22
    Accurate
Full power, It shoots all pellets 11 - 11.5 from new, but no chance of going over.
    Reliable.

Bit long, but then it holds plenty of air.

Mine likes FTT in 5.51 (which seem hard to get now - they were usually HW branded, though it just shoots a whisker bigger groups / lower mv with the usual 5.53s. It didn't like JSB pellets I tried, which were the 13.7's, and shot RWS OK ish)
Mine has a Yukon on for rats and rabbits at night.

Do not take the front band off the barrel or any of the other silly 'mess about with your new rifle stuff' that floats around forums.

All the retailers who sell these rifles (and a lot get sold) rightly put their heads in there hands when people start knackering perfectly good rifles _ (I've spoken to shop keepers in several parts of UK about this)
Looking for TO-6 Trigger unit unmessed with or T0-6 kit for 34
