    Yet another Webley-Whiting build.

Seems that these air pistols have been getting a lot of attention from enthusiasts recently.
It was the very well illustrated and written post here on the BBS by John G., documenting his own progress that finally got me motivated to build one for myself.

wow.. now there's some proper engineering / machining skills - lovely work...
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

That's superb work Len. Can't wait to hear more.

I was totting it up, and I reckon that when your pistol is completed there will be seven examples in existence based on the Whiting patent design (including the original prototype). Not bad for a design that never even made it into production, and even more than known examples of some production pistols, such as the Mark 1 and Mark 2 Titans. Such is the power of the Webley name!

I dare say they will need their own page in the next encyclopedia!A world-wide production. Are the seven made to the same specs? You craft-chaps certainly belong to an exclusive club.As I recall,Mac's was the first of the magnificent seven..then the Stace,Tom K and Griffiths. Now the LJ (not Lincoln Jefferies!).How about a production run? ;-)

Cold rolled steel for the frame parts, and will be using 01 steel for the trigger parts and latching mechanism.

I made three, I kept the first one, gave the second one to John Mc Crossen and the third to John Bowkett who promptly sold it.

That is a stunning recreation Len. I suspect it will end up better made than the original prototype.
