    Remington tyrant. Any good?

I am talking myself into buying a new gun, in .22. I had almost decided on a stoeger x20s, but I popped into my local gunshop to see what they had and noticed the Remington tyrant which they are selling at £109.
Does anyone have one? I know its based on the Remington express, which itself has received some favorable reviews, presumably the tyrant is equal to these. I know the shroud on the barrel is not a silencer, is the rifle particularly loud on firing?
I totally expect that someone will pop up and mention the hw99, but I don't want to spend quite that much.
Final question, if anyone has fired/owned both the stoger and the Remington, was either significantly better?

I've had/ got several 'top end' springers and bought a Remmy Express in 22 with a synthetic stock earlier this year.

A revelation out of the box. It responds well to stripping, cleaning out, deburring and relubing. Once that is done it's as good as anything costing 2-3 times as much. The trigger blade can be replaced with a WH rekord trigger blade which gives the trigger unit an improved 2 stage feel.

I adore mine and have a lot of pleasure shooting it, very accurate and consistent. You can't go wrong! But be aware they go a bit hot, so be ready to make adjustments when necessary!

A lot of guys at my club now have these, one guy couldn't decide between 22 or 177, so he bought one of each..

    UPDATE

just done a google, the tyrant does not have the same action as the express, it looks more gamo like, so my comments above are redundant as they apply to the express.

ive read on one of the yank sites that these are a 17ft lb gun,so should be more than able to handle uk power
limits.as said,a good clean and de burr and a proper lube will do it good.i have fired the express and wasnt too
bad,but couldnt comment on accuracy,as it had open sights.would prob have one to fiddle with myself,if i come
    across one.

Just compare the photos, a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Shauny, the open sights on the express are excellent.

I believe it's built on the BAM19 platform. The Express action and trigger is better in my opinion. I have both B19 and Remmy Express.

yeah, but you cant really tell what your 25 yd groups are going to be with opens, and i wouldnt
personally use opens to hunt,so back to my orig statement, cant really comment on accuracy.

    great gun

I have the remington tyrant .22 and found it a great rifle for hunting and target shooting
Ive just found the perfect pellets for it after trying a few brands and they are the crossman premier hollow points.im getting tight groups at 35 yards putting 10 shots into a 5 pence piece size target.ive had rabbits out to 45 yards with no problem its a full powered rifle and now its broke in its smooth as silk i would recommend this gun to anybody.
