    Weihrauch HW66 .17HMR Thumbhole stock

have had this a couple of months now

    http://www.weihrauch-sport.de/seiten..._und_jagd.html

i've now shot maybe 200-250 rounds through it and its settled down nicely. i've been very impressed with it so far, and the trigger is way better than my rimfire or other rifles, being a fully adjustable proper 2 stage Rekord match trigger. its breaking about 1.5lbs trigger weight.

its a 16" varmint barrel and is nicely balanced. i've now shot quarry cleanly at upto 130yards on a number of occasions, and its been ultra reliable.
the only minor niggle as such is a small 4 shot magazine and the fiddly nature of loading it, but it locates securely and is at least a metal magazine as opposed to plastic. i have learned to leave the final (first) round located well up on the loading slide of the magazine or you can get misloads if rushing.
its shooting thumbnail size 5 shot groups which is what i was after at 100 yards, and seems to like the cci tnt ammo as per my other thread.

one thing i do like is the smooth bolt action and how well finished the gun is. overall its definitely a keeper and is getting a lot of use now.

I have three weihrauch rifles now an hw60 in 22 an hw66 in 17hmr and an hw60 thumb hole in 222.

As you can tell I'm a fan, as you say the triggers are brilliant. The best triggers on any rifle I have ever shot!

Fantastic rifle. Shame about the low capacity mags. and i didn't like to stock. And i can't seem to find anyone to make a better stock so i cut mine up and made the cheek hight adjustable. Now it's really good. Haven't worked out if she like a dirty barrel or clean.? Awesome with night vision!
    Just airguns now.

The HW66 was a gun i really liked and nearly bought, but didn't due to it only having a 4 round mag!! I'm surprised there aren't any "after market" higher capacity mags made for these guns... Krico mags are the same, as Weihrauch make them or used to make them too, but the Krico mags are also only 4 round mags! If they made a higher capacity mag for this gun, I would invest in one!
I nearly ordered one when I was looking for a quality WMR, but opted for the Sako Quad Heavy Barrel with Monte Carlo Sythetic Stock with raised comb - main reason was due to the availability of a 9 round magazine, which I bought at the same time... so I've now got the standard 5 round mag and the additional 9 round Sako mag, which is plenty!!
I'm really happy with the Sako and it's shooting clover leaf groups at 100 yards with Hornady V-Max 30g and Remmington 33g!! It also shoots CCI Maxi 40g accurately too!!
If I was looking for another LR or maybe an HMR, I would still consider buying a Weihrauch or Krico... Nice 2 stage triggers and excellent action!!

I've got one in .17 hmr as well and it's fantastic
I got around the 4 shot mag problem, I just bought another two mags
Superb gun in every way and trigger is simply best I've tried.
