Lot 25 is interesting because it appears to have the BSA piled arms stamp on a 1920s stock, years after the routine practice of using this stamp was dropped. (But it doesn't look like it's on the LHS of the stock as usual, so could be an error on the part of Holts...?). If anyone handles these guns in person, please confirm this description.

I've put screen captures of these guns here, which makes it a bit easier to view them. But I'm not endorsing this auction in any way - remember when bidding that there is a hefty uplift in price once the commission is paid!

The estimates on the BSA's are not outrageous, looks like a bit of 'come and buy me', it is encouraging because auction rules say that the reserve price should not be higher than lowest estimate. On that basis I would guess that they'll all sell.

It will be interesting to see the prices that these guns make on the day of reckoning.

As always there are some interesting combinations of sights, stocks, trigger guards on some of the guns, and an interesting 'fitted' steel butt plate on serial number 23654.

Should raise the profile of the vintage BSA's though, and if they sell at some of those lower estimates( pigs might fly), there will be some bargains to be had, even with the buyers premium.
