    I've just tried this with my FX Wildcat, which is both short and light and it seems very promising. It was a no-go with an HW100TK with lightweight cylinder.

    My method: Get in your usual offhand standing position, then release the forend and grasp your other elbow.
    The base of the pistol grip then rests on your (non-trigger) upper arm or elbow.

    I'm not a talented shooter and my score has hovered around 85% for years, but the sight picture was dancing much less vigorously than usual, and I managed 5 bulls in my first 10 shots.

    I think I shall practice this some more...
