    Wanted Webley Pellet Tins

    Hi guys, looking for;

    Webley 1000 .177 Special Pellets round green pellet tin [page 208 Webley Air Rifle Book]

    Also same tin with a paper label, I have never seen one before.

    Webley 500 .22 Special Pellets round orange tin with indented lid [page 189 Bruces book]

    Webley dart packets with Spiv on the front or with picture of pistol with orange background [page 209 Webley Air rifle Book]

    cheers john, its one of the 4 that came with a 2nd series mk2 I bought (same one that had the 2nd edition principles of marksmanship with it)

    Sounds like that was a very good deal for you. There is still uncertainty around when exactly these round tins were sold by Webley & Scott as to the best of my knowledge, no original adverts have been traced.

    the boolet is dated may 1934 in pencil and numbered to the gun, am thinking all the pellet tins were with the gun.

    Not sure The tin may well have been picked up later in the rifle's life. General consensus is the tins are immediately post war (late 1940s) but I'm open to persuasion.

    Hi Baz, thanks for the reply but I have several of that type, I am after that tin but in .22 which will be orange in colour.
    Has any member got one or ever see one?

    I was of the opinion that this tin didn't actually exist, but as you say there is a black and white picture of one' in Gordon Bruce's book. I would think the chances of finding an example of the orange tin to be very remote if not impossible.
