If it's any use to you, I have a Sussex Armoury AR7 (1979 or 80) .22 for sale, on behalf of a friend. Bought from the SA shop in Leigh-on-sea.

I have stripped it cleaned and re-lubed, replaced the spring and guide (still got the originals)

It has the original 'Single point' red-dot sight too, which works fine.

    I suggested £250.
    Keen but clueless..

I meant to post updates but a family bereavement put everything out of place. I ended up reassembling one evening last week until midnight then remembering I hadn't taken pics etc.

It mostly went together quite smoothly, I polished the piston and the trigger parts I had removed. New spring, custom guide, piston sleeve and o-ring.

The only problem was re-fitting the sear which catches the piston it looked right but when cocked it wouldn't fire (easy to de-cock luckily) After 10 minutes of thinking time and some help I figured out how to fit it properly.

it is quite loud compared to my TXs and has a kick to it.

I will quickly disassemble one more to check all is well inside (and take some pics) then try and find a new owner for it.
    Keen but clueless..
