Now that is spooky! I reckon fate is dealing you a hand here and the rifle is meant for you!

That replacement bolt did look a little out of place and the 'butt-plug' could do with a repair but otherwise the rifle ought to clean up OK. It seemed very smooth to cock, although possibly a little oversprung? If you are to take some photos of the right side of the stock showing the piled arms trademark, it would be of interest to a few on here, I'm sure.

    Kind regards,

    John

as well as the right hand stamp i have just noticed 2 other marks on the stock just behing the trigger guard slot, there is a 'h' in a stylised star and an 'n' in the same stylized star, they are about 3mm in diameter.i have never seen such marks before or is it just down to me having new glasses that i can now see what i couldn't before?

I've seen similar marks before, although not on all BSAs. I guess they are inspection stamps but it would be good to uncode exactly what they signify.

they probably are inspection marks, these new glasses are allowing me to see things i never did before.they won't improve my shooting though!
