And so it Begins! (New Stock)

My new stock has just arrived....... well it will be, nice piece of American Ash hardwood, will keep this updated with the progress for those interested, I wonder how many other Gamo Coyotes have a custom stock?
For some reason I cant use image tags, so here is the direct link.

Some progress, design done and transferred to the wood, and then an hour or so with a jigsaw, made a start on shaping/removing wood, but as I don't really have the right tools, I settled on an angle grinder and flap disc, bit dusty but removes material better than other methods.

Definitely. Much easier to clamp a nice square piece of timber to the bench or workmate for the router.

Unfortunately I will have to borrow a router, as I don't own one, hence I haven't done the inletting yet, wont have a problem with holding it and I also have a decent vice in the shed, I have also only been shaping one side as yet, so I have a nice flat/true reference for the router...not daft yet

It's sure going to be better than the original. Have you considered making the barrel free floating? I had a chat with local airgunsmith and he said it should work well.

A little more progress, still haven't got hold of a router so I placed the stock over the action to get an idea of how it will look,
on a side note I am planning to oil finish the stock, will the oil once a get a build up fill the little imperfections caused by the grain?
