Cool Sussex Interclub HFT 2015 - Round 9 Results

    Hi everyone

What a great day – some of which has to be down to perhaps the best weather we’ve had all SIHFT season long; some to superb course design and an opportunity (a first at Swallows FTC) to use the new area around the northern end of the fishing lake. From feedback gathered, I believe that this went down well with the above average turnout (71 today).

My thanks to the main Swallows FTC helpers – Vince and Steve, plus Carla, Gerry and Stewart

Thanks too to the visitors who responded to the plea in the announcement thread – and stayed behind to help us take in the course; much appreciated

My personal final thanks to Ian and Don for helping me and my aching bits to get round the course.

Lots of high scores today and, I hope, a bundle of PBs. That’s what I design my courses to do. Pleased for Lewis that he got his trio of badges – Gold, Platinum and his SIHFT ‘special’ 60 Clearance gong. Good shooting mate – the only person to fail to get caught out by something 70 others missed.

Prize drawer winners today were :

    • Ian Morrison – the £35 cash prize, and
    • Jacob Holmes – the Air Arms goody bag (who, I gather, was heard muttering at many of today’s comp.that he was in need of one of those peaked cap thingies. Sorted!)

    Club Round 9 Total Points
    Oaks 289 106
    Buxted 282 97
    Horsham 274 92
    Swallows 254 78

Happy and safe shooting to you all ahead of the final competition round of the 2015 SIHFT, which is in two weeks' time on the 4th October at Buxted.

In the meantime, best of luck to the Sussex crew heading up to Cambridge for the UKAHFT and to those of us going west to take part in the BARPC 40th anniversary shoot at Popham.

    Red face

Well done Lewis and all the other top scorers today; and thanks to Mike and all the course setters for a fantastic day out. My score might have been better if I hadn't got my glove mixed up with the trigger as I was settling down for a shot. This led to an accidental discharge and a doughnut. My gratitude to those who suggested that accidental discharges were just a fact of life at my age

Really enjoyed the course, though a couple of the "lake" ones caught me out big time for range!
Cheers to Gary for the company, and Gary/ Jean for the lift.

    Thumbs up

Great day - thanks very much to all at Swallows who put in the hard work to make it happen. Really liked the new fishing pond section. That will be nasty when the wind is properly blowing.

Well done Lewis - very impressive. Cheers Roger for your company today.

Thank you Swallows for a superb day - a lot of work must have gone into that.

    Lewis, damn well shot!

Thanks to Charles for cleaning my barrel - odd that I should get my best score for ages shortly after its first ever pull through clean( it is only about 12 years old after all...)

Good shooting from Patrick, shame he struggled over the lake otherwise he was on for a 59 with a boinger!
