    You must have missed the previous thread concerning this gun ( http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....esting-pistol]). Although it seems that the auctioneer's suggestion is most likely wrong, we are still non the wiser unfortunately.

    Whoooooops, must have missed the earlier thread. Probably an age thing ! Still very interested in finding out more about this particular pistol.

    If stamped up as a 'BONEHILL' it would be an imported Quack rebrand ...everybody back then did this , stamped , badged . Nice to see those wood grips like on same period smallbore firearms .

    I doubt if it is stamped BONEHILL, otherwise the auctioneers would have made a big issue of this, as it would have added considerable provenance and value to the gun.
    Quackenbush had given up air pistol manufacture by the 1890's, so if it's not from a backyard gunsmith, a continental company like Eisenwerke Gaggenau or Langenhan would be more likely. However, IMO, if you look closely at the quality of the build and the fit of the grips it does not seem to have the quality associated with these companies.
