    That German auction site

Why won't some sellers export to the UK?

Is there some complication about posting abroad that I don't know about?

Or do they just not like foreigners?

I doubt it's the latter as they have recently opened their borders to rather rather a lot of them.

I think its just down to individual sellers. I believe that one or two have had bad experiences and just steer clear.
Sometimes they just mean that they won't sell outside of the EU, so it is always worth sending an email and asking. I've done this on a number of occasions , sometimes with success, sometimes not.

Mr Jochen, you have opened up a whole new world to me.

I think I'm going to have to sell my house.

No harm in sending an email before and asking. You may find that the "ban" is generic to avoid hassle but if you pre-contact them and establish a basic rapport and show that you are a decent sort of bloke then they usually accommodate.

To be able to bid, just replace your country of residence in your profile with Germany...

    Pre-Auction advice

    but donīt tell it anyone

    http://www.watchcount.com/?cc=UK

Just enter the item name and you can see the number of watchers......or the most watched item in a category.

Nice, isnīt it and you can change the country...

Thanks Jochen, those links work OK.

Could be that some German sellers are reluctant to sell outside Germany because of the complicated laws about posting airguns. DHL do not accept airguns for shipment but whenever I have bought a gun from Germany it has arrive by DHL! Maybe the sellers have just taken pot luck and nothing has been X-rayed?

I sell to UK and tell the receiver/buyer , that all difficulties and trouble ref. the shipping or customs must be solved by the buyer. I only communicate the tracking-number and can send "box-in-box" if desired. The buyer can also have a picture of the parcel before given to the DHL-office to proof that there is no damage of the parcel before shipping.

The company I would suggest is DHL (german partner- UK = ???) and shipping the rifle dismantled.

I have had no problems until today - even unregistered from UK to Germany. I dont think that there will be a hughe amount of x-ray-machines at customs.....if you fear, put in some additional steel-rods.....

PS: I have still some rifles (Diana 60 match, Barakuda) for sale

Can you continue to bid on eGun ie. raise your bid, when someone makes a higher bid than yours, like you can in a public auction?

Or are you only allowed one bid?

    I would appreciate your advice.
