    Thanks for that BB... at least I know mine isn't defective... I'm going to make a leather cheek riser for mine... I've got an idea for a tyrolean type!

    I think it is because the optics are pushing it a bit. Most scopes do max mag/min mag of about 3. This scope does 4.

    I've checked the Simmons 1.5-5×20 WTC scope I have on sales as having consistent clear focus right through the power range.
    No distortion detected at all, so perhaps this is taken for granted on the vintage Philippines value scopes as opposed to the Chinese value stuff of today?
