I'm a little intrigued by the concept of a limited edition item whose production run is extended when they sell out.

Anything modern that claims to be a 'limited' or 'collector's edition ought to be taken with a pinch of salt IMHO. Invariably they are not as limited as the marketing suggests.

In addition most Limited Editions tend to be looked after and so there always 1000 or whatever around.
I learnt that from model cars which I thought might be an investment!

I am hopeless so I have got the Marshal.
    508 of 1000-so far!

A thousand? A place in Bristol is advertising them in Gunstar as a run of 500. If you've got 508, erm ... ??

It all seems a bit sleazy, to me.

Hey Ginge, where did you get your Marshall version from? I could be tempted to add one to the collection.
Sometimes I sits and thinks, but mostly I just sits.

TAL Arms are illustrating their antique finish version with Marshalls badges on the grips, at the same price as the nickel and blued. Probably a mistake, though.

Just out in the US - rifled barrel, pellet-firing version.

I like the weathered finish but not sure about the John Wayne signature and references to the Duke on the markings.

I wonder if the initial batch of the 'limited edition' Marshall's SAA is numbered 1 - 500 and the next batch 1 - 1000?

    I ask as I examined #13 of 1000 last week. There's probably a 13 of 500 out there too!

    "Justified"

Can't see the connection, though, unless you're saying that you've already said that they have them. In fact, I was pointing out that they're advertising them at the same price as the other versions, rather than the thirty quid or so extra that others are selling them for.

I have not seen one with the full blown warnings on the barrel yet, thankfully.

Oddly the Antique has the stand out white writing.
The website of a northern RFD shows the right hand side of the US Marshall version....seems to be a LOT of words there Maybe that is just a library photo and ones for sale are different (one hopes)?
