If you check xpe leds being sold there are various binns of the same led, you can have the same led with a 57lm output at 350ma to nearly 80lm at 350ma , the higher the binn the better really and worth checking,usually a bit more epensive, but not a lot. Prime example, awhile ago bought a jobot/package of bits and bobs, included was a double cell t67 in red, went for a field test , couldn't believe how poor the throw was , compared to a similar one with a high binn led, decent pcb and driver which I fitted myself. Really find the words ultra and mega a bit misleading for decent leds,pcbs and drivers fitted, as they should be standard, no disrespect to the Chinese, but probably only going to fit lower binn numbers to save on costs so a trade off really. As an example say to build a decent red pill for a t20 with quality bits would come in around £6-7 all in , to achieve the best in a t50 ideally the pill would need a little fettling as Clive does on his Black Sun range, but worth it if you want value to performance.......
