    Hi BBS forum!

    Hello Everyone,

I live near Beccles in Suffolk and I'm looking to make a return to shooting after a long break.

It's around 15-20yrs since I did any competitive shooting, I used to shoot Field Targets most weekends when I was in my teens but now I'm fancying trying out paper target pistol shooting.

I would welcome any advice on finding a good pistol for starting out with this, I've been thinking an SSP pistol like the Baikal MP46M (IZH46) perhaps...

Thanks in advance to anyone who offers any advice.

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

    Welcome to the BBS.

I think the 'Izzy' (IZH-46 or 46M/MP46M) is an excellent pistol for starting off, or for somebody (like me), who isn't deadly serious about match pistol shooting.

Thanks very much for the welcome messages.

    Phil,

Thanks for further backing up my opinion of the 'Izzy'. I've been reading lots of good things and I do have a bit money put aside to get me started... Hmmm I'm very tempted.
