    Brocock TAC's

I'm buying a place in France, so I can finally get another TAC pistol!
The sale/trade/ownership of the TAC's themselves has never been illegal here, so I'm wondering if anyone has some unused in a drawer somewhere they want to sell? Same goes for pumps and other bits and pieces. I also know a lot of people stored their guns in France when the law came in rather than hand them in for zero compensation. If you know someone who did that and has any used ones available through legal channels please let me know!

The current models available are the Orion Specialist, the cheaper Magnum ME38 and a rather nice Peacemaker replica. I think it'll have to be the Specialist, but it would be nice to maybe find some others.

I know that I'm definately looking at these with my finest rose-tinted glasses on, but I do miss them.

You can still buy the tacs new, which I suggest you do as second hand ones usually have leaking seals due to age and lack of oil, before the ban I got some second hand carts and they had what looked like some sort of green oil that had solidified into a varnish like substance,
I think I still have a post in sales for front seals.
By the way the Orion 6 was the flagship model and was very accurate (i got rid of mine thanks to a jumped up pc who was adamant that ALL airguns had been banned, I said sod it! These are going to the car boot and YOU will have to deal with the nutter who buys them! With that he went very pale, the lady I was originally speaking to, (to get an appointment with the fac officer ) went red with embarrassment at his outburst, he made sure his number was not visible and he would not give me his name!)

The Orion was the best air pistol I ever owned.
I recently handled the Peacemaker which I thought initially was a real one!

Funny you should mention that, in France you can buy a black powder pistol or rifle as long as its based on a pre 1900 design and you're over 18!!

    All those pretty Uberti pistols!

The Birmingham shootings that prompted the ban were carried out with a Mach 10 machine gun.
Odd that banning Brococks didn't help.

On the day of the ban I called brocock and asked the man about the brocock pistols been converted to fire live .22 lr, he said that to his knowledge only one brocock pistol had been converted and the owner tried to sue brocock as the pistol "exploded" in his hand. he then told me that a lot of the Birmingham police and fire brigade used the pistols and they were dismayed at the ban and the letters and petitions by the police to the government explaining why banning brocock tac guns would do nothing.
It was a few years later I read a news paper artical and it gave real numbers to the percentages used in gun crime figures, in the end it worked out that only 2 brocock pistols had been used in crime and neither had been converted

Did flare guns get banned around the same time?

Was watching a vid the other day and see you can get a drop in barrel to convert a flare gun to fire bullets!

Flare guns have been sec 1 in the UK for years (unless an exempt calibre). Inserts for available ammunition also 'on ticket' here.

The dealer who sold that gun has just been sentenced to 16 years inside.
Other members of the Gang suppliers share 50 years between them.

    The shootings were in 2003!

Can't see any mention of Brococks in the newspaper reports!

I noticed some time ago a company called Tawnado was still supplying TAC's new from stock, so I assume they aren't illegal to buy? Just owning the guns is.

The TACS are fine to own as you say. New ones are readily available, but I'm tight!
