    meteor barrel wobble

Try the spring first but check the pin the latch engages on isn't bent too. Drift it out & roll on a flat surface to check.

The barrel axis pins and corresponding holes in the breech jaws and block wear with age.
The pins are not unknown to fracture completely.
Easier to fix is a worn breech plunger spring.

If it's wear in the pivot hole and pin, it could be salvageable by reaming to a known oversize and making a new pin. Having it done by a machine shop may not make economic sense, because Meteors don't command a high price, but if you like the gun then why not?

The plunger spring can be shimmed with a stack of washers if you think its weak. Be aware that that the barrel axis pin not only holds the barrel in place but also holds the barrel latch as well. Its easier to have an old short pin to push the axis pin out whilst holding the plunger in place. If the action "forks" are a bit loose you can pitch them slightly in a vice to take out the slack.
