    Ballistol and anodysed aluminium/

Just thinking about using this on the action of my FWB 80.

I've been using a clean cloth on the action but sometimes feel it needs more of a clean.

Feinwerkbau advise a wipe over with a light gun oil, but I've found in the past that this can gradually take away the surface on some finishes, at least on a HW45 - though I don't know if that gun is anodysed or painted).

However Ballistol is supposed to be very gentle on everthing except copper and nickel, and I recently acquired a tin. Just wondered if any of you wipe the stuff over aluminium surfaces on your guns.

Just use an impreganted silicon cloth to wipe it over, occasionally I use Barricade wipes to give mine a proper clean, Ballistoil has a somewhat nasty smell, a bit like old socks!! that will eventually get into the grip through handling and you'll never get rid of the smell again.

    Thanks for the reply Nige.

I agree with you about the smell.

But I would have used it very sparingly - a little bit on the end of a cloth.

Funny thing is I've bought several classic airguns from Germany, where they swear by Ballistol, and none of them smell of the stuff.
