It failed really, as I was only able to get a sample every 20ms, which is useless - I need at least one every 0.2ms really... ho hum...

Jon - 0.2 millisecond sampling would be woefully inadequate. My DRO has 0.02048 ms sampling intervals, and that's barely adequate for the massive shifts in acceleration at piston bounce.
