Brand new Steyr LP 2 - filling problems

I bought my LP2 new from Steyr UK, via Edinkillie Sports. Am I right in saying that the supplied filling adaptor is too short for a standard DIN air cylinder valve? The adaptor that came with the pistol is about 10mm short of mating with the valve's bottom face so the air is lost through the hole in the valve thread.

Do I now have to buy the longer one from Best Fittings?

    Thanks

    Steyr filling

Are you filling from a 300 bar bottle? If so you will require an adapter as the bottle fittings are different depths.

Best Fittings should have one. Its just a 1/4" washer with 'O' ring.

I machined a 1/4" washer from nylon and it does the job fine, although £4.50 for a Best fittings adaptor ain't exactly extortionate

A 0.5 inch tap or hose washer backed by a thin steel washer is an acceptable temporary solution as a spacer between the Steyr 232 bar adaptor and your air tank.
A 300 bar connection has 3 or 4 more threads than a 232 bar; that's why the air escapes; the depth of the two fittings is different.

Pm me if you need further help.

    Thanks gents.
I've ordered one of these from Best Fittings:
Steyr LP (Pistol) - 1/8 BSP Male Fill Adaptor
    03S2-ML03

It's the same as the Steyr adaptor but with longer thread for a 300bar cylinder valve.
