    Question about the FWB 103?

Really for those of you who got one new.

What, if anything, came with it in the way of screwdrivers, other tools, lubricant, spare seals etc?

Some match pistols come with various accessories. Did the 103 or was there not very much needed other than a screwdriver?

The 103 came in the same case as is still used with the P44.

They came with a handbook and test card along with the black Feinwerkbau branded screwdriver and a small pack of felt pellets.

Also included was a set of 3 allen keys and the one for the grip adjustment has a moulded handle on it

A set of 4 alternate sized front sight elements and a tube of Feinwerkbau grease came with mine.

The tool recess has a foam lid that can be pushed on to prevent the tools falling out,

The pistol was laid on a sheet of "COROTEX" rust inhibiting paper.

Inside the handbook was the usual Feinwerkbau green and white case sticker.

    Thanks Bob.

The most detailed answer to a question that I have ever received.

Apart from the colour of the foam.

    Cool Fwb 103

    The foam is grey
The FWB 100 came in a lovely Attache case which had a blue velvet lining and all the bits and pieces mentioned above

Are the only differences between the 103 Mk1 and Mk2, the change in colour from blue to blue grey, and the fact that the latter has a single piece Morini grip?

My birthday is at the end of next month and I have slowly been saving my pennies.

I will be looking for a Feinwerkbau ssp of one sort or another eventually.

I suppose I already have about enough for a 100 in fair condition, if one came up, and I'm not far away from being able to afford a 102, but I may continue to wait until I have enough for a 103. I am aware that they don't come up very often.

I've done some research from which I understand, though reports vary, that the velocity of the 100 is in the 400 fps range, the 102 in the mid 400s and 103 in the high 400s.

    Cat amongst the pigeons?

    Arther,
The velocity is irrelavent, its consistancy you need, but with a pistol its all about feel and ballance. Before you buy, go and visit Bob at RMTC, he will have some that you can try, and then try a Walther LPM-1, its a step up, why settle for second best?

    Have fun
    Good shooting

    Thanks for the reply Robin.

I intend to do, but I've been without access to transport for much of the last month, and will be for a few more weeks to come. One of our children has been in hospital for quite a long time, and has been getting daily visits.

I thought about the LPM1 too, but I read on a German forum that it was less reliable than the FWBs - more inclined to break down during competition. Yes, that surprised me too, since I'd heard how good the build quality of the Walther was. I also heard it was a bugger to cock.

The LPM-1 is very reliable as is the FWB, as for cocking its no more difficult than the FWB, all of them are a knack more than strength.
