Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!! !

Okay, I think that’ll cover it.
Yes, Sunday January 10th and its the annual shootus horribilus at Cambridge. A 30-shot course most definitely not to UK rules and guaranteed to challenge even the most embittered and determined of targetmasters. Messers Haas and his team of underworld goblins had yet again set about creating a course where the size of the killzone and the amount of string used to get there were again inversely proportional to an almost infinite degree. Mohammad may not have been able to move the mountain but this lot had apparently been able to move several established trees and bushes so they fell immediately within the line of fire. If you could see the target chances are you were looking at the wrong one.
Once again some of our Dutch friends had mounted an expedition to come and see us and take on the course. Spare a thought it you pass them, probably sobbing, on their way back to the port.
There was only one ceasefire today and not for a faulty target, someone fell into the ditch trying to spot target 28.

The “Golden Shot” was next to peg 1, a snail with around a 15mm kill set out in the field at 40-something yards in the crosswind. Adults had to knock it down and juniors plate it to go into the prize draw, just seven managed it; Ralph Presland, Steve Youngs, Anne Higgins, Alex Bye, Ingrid VanGemert, Nia Preston and Olly Fleet, with Alex taking the prize on the draw.

Just out of curiosity I ran a tally of the total number of donuts (0) we accumulated. Of the 46 brave souls who finished we managed a staggering... wait for it.... *370* donuts between us.
On the plus side this does mean we only need to respray 3 targets before the next shoot as the other 27 were relatively unscathed.

Ready for the scores?
Brace yourself...
