I am new to this site and enjoy the posts . I found this one fun enjoying the wording for items . I looked at this front loader and was looking at the wear on the handle and frame . I believe the detail was done some time after the item was made . not seeing any lanyard loop this seems large for a pocket , if it was used in a overcoat pocket , wouldn't have a lot of mussel wear ? possible the reason the ram rod is not there .

the filigree looks to be French , but the assay mark says different . did you look under the barrel? it might shed some more light . Hope not to offend, just saying http://www.airgunbbs.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
