I only do it to clean the barrel Tone. For everyday use, you'd still have your fingers in there to put the dowel in, and fish it back out again... you could use a barbeque tongs for that I suppose...

If you get stuck like that, it's best to press the muzzle into the carpet or similar, to add a bit of resistance.

    Now I'm with you 👍👍
Hopefully no problems have come from dry firing it, I've fired it since and it worked

A single dry fire will not have hurt it.

Although it's something that I would also rather not try, a while ago Jim Tyler did some dry fire testing to investigate recoil, surge and transfer port choking on one or two of his long-suffering rifles, with no detriment.

Don't do it! I was firing into an argos catalogue in December. It scares the living daylights out of their staff and customers

    All of the above.

As per the man with the Titanium Backside, I prefer to remove the "ABT" / trigger lock.
And if that little spring snaps things start getting worse I don't understand how they've got away with it for all these years.
Diana's anti bear trap's are very good along with AirArms safelok. I think its encouraging that they evidently care about the user by building in a fail safe system.

If you find you can't decock and have to dry fire, Put the muzzle against something rubber, Like the sole of a shoe, It will stop the piston hitting the cylinder end at full speed!!

These guns are sturdy enough to take a few dry fires though!!
