    Hw77 tyrolean stock refurb

    Hi guys .
I have a early HW77 at a relatives house and when I visited recently I noticed that although the overall condition is good it could do with some cosmetic TLC . The walnut tyrolean stock is looking a bit tired . it still has the original coating on it but would benefit from a new oiled finish and the action is in need of a total reblueing to bring it back up to scratch.
If anybody can recommend a person or company that does this kind of work and how much I can expect to pay for each job I'd be grateful . There's no great rush because I don't use the rifle but the jobs will need doing at some point so I thought I'd get the ball rolling . as always thanks for your time in advance guys . atb Ricky

Being not a million miles from Sheffield you could try giving Custom Stocks a call they may be able to help, I'd imagine that a renovation would be around £50, although any furniture restoration specialist could do a job like that

    That sounds a good idea.

And for bluing, Colin Malloy (Manchester), or RichardH (Northampton) are usually recommended on here.

Not fancy enough for you, John?

He does know how to shape a stock. I once had a DR - Rapid. The grip felt fantatic, and it fitted me great.

    Looked a bit 'medieval' though!

For stock restoration, I can not recommend highly enough nathan92 over on the other forum.
He will be getting hold of another one of mine early next week.
