I would show my bum in Burtons shop window if Hull cartridge opened up every gun and changed the spring!! I think they will just order 16J uk spec. guns straight from HW.

Quite correct, Hull do not strip and rebuild the guns as a matter of course.

My new HW95 has a bolt on bracket for the front stock screws instead of the old welded on tabs that my R9 had

Confirmation of this, they just fit different springs for the UK market?!

"Weihrauch's policy is one of continuous development so they change the specification of rifles when they see fit, this may see changes to piston seals or assembly of the rifles or in this case the main spring. Weihrauch now use the same size diameter spring for all rifles but work out the best length for the rifle and calibre in question.

    Kind Regards

BEWARE GREY IMPORTS!! Make sure the rifle you purchase is stamped HULL CARTRIDGE this guarantees the rifle is set to the UK power limit and has the manufacturers full warranty."

The little HW99 spring flapping around in the new HW80's explains a lot though.

Even more confirmation Nick was the batch of 77s and 97s that came through Hull Cartridge with the back blocks locked on with bluing salts --- no way had they been dismantled since leaving the Weihrauch factory.

    All the best Mick

I remember that! Quite a who-harr, almost a ruckus ensued!

So, in answer to the op, maybe you finally shot one with the spring HW intended for it!

I got a hw95k in the summer of 2015 and it always hit the mark and worked well. I know a strip and hand build would have made it even nicer but I let my friend have it to get him away and he loves it, I loved it as well.
I have not replaced it yet and it will be a tuned 95 or a tuned 99.
