    Question Infrared Illuminators

Just wandering what type of IR illuminator would be best suited to an HTH721. Should I fork out on a more expensive laser job or would a more conventional LED one do the job? I might want to use the sight on a rimfire in the future so the longer range the better.

Not too sure about what range is usable.....especially for rimmy.....i've only used mine out to 35yd max(12ftlb)...thats all i've ever needed as i could easily get to that range(and much closer) with the bunnies....actually managed to get within 15yds once without ém getting too spooked.....i use the soviet Bazaar HTH pro IR laser, not too sure of its max usable range, but its way past 70yds.........in fact way too good for my gen1 stuff

dont know anything about your scope but an ir laser will transform your nv, i use the xvd with a laser illuminator and it tripples the usable range.
    i cannot recomend it enough
