    Sunshades ?

I'm thinking of buying a sunshade for my Big Nikko, but at £30 seem a tad expensive.Do they work well enough to fork out an extra £30 ?

I know it's on a different scope, but the sunshade on my Leapers 4-16 x 56 makes all the difference in the early morning/late evening when I'm shooting towards the sun and it's low in the sky. Shots that would otherwise be impossible due to lens flare become crystal clear (I still miss but that's just me....).

All the time mate - it's too much faffing about to keep putting it on and taking it off, and it does a good job of keeping rain off the objective lens (mind you, it looks humongous on top of my little S200 - 2/3rds as long as the gun, even with the silencer, even better with the XVD on the back...).

ive got a big niko on my steyr. the sunshade if fitted would foul the barrel support. so i made one out of 70mm o/d black plastic drainpipe from B&Q (£3) and black tape with a cut out at the bottom. also angled the front so it protects more from overhead light.
you can't tell its a botch job untill you look closely

p.s i sprayed the inside with matt black to stop an intermittent slight reflection or you can line the inside with that matt black paper that artists/schools use.
    Regards

They don't come up in the Sales section

I read sometime back about someone making ali' ones for £25. I think they were a bit longer. Can't find the thread now though
