July 1998, maybe
Hope this helps.
Originally sold as a Sheridan, model E or EB, 1978-91ish. Disinguishing feature: medallion on grip with big letter S. .20" only.
Sold as a Benjamin Sheridan 1992-98, in all 3 cals, models E17, E20, E22. But marked E9A.
Sold 1999-recently as a Benjamin EB17, EB20, EB22. Marked E9A. Identical AFAIK to the above.
Mine is a post-99 gun with a higher serial than yours (908700881). Box says "Benjamin EB, by Crosman". Crosman bought Benjamin-Sheridan in 1992.
I do not know if the Benjamin/Sheridans adopted Crosman's post-1975 serial number formula, in which the first three or four numbers are the month and year of manufacture. If they did, then mine is from November (9) 2008 (08), and yours from July (7) 1998 (98). Which is about right for mine, and would make yours a late Benjamin Sheridan E. (Incidentally the first three digits of my very late Blue Streak are 490, which would be April 1990, and also makes sense.) I'll ask over in Collectors, as someone there probably knows for sure!
