    Webley MK 1 rifle at Holts

    Just wondered if anyone on here bought it, i was tempted because I have the next serial number up and might have made a pair, but the stock on the holts jobbie was just a bit too damaged for me...

    I saw it Tuesday night. I'd have passed seeing the state of the stock. Wondered round the hall for ages and didn't get offered any wine. I mustn't have looked posh enough! Perhaps my trousers weren't the right shade of mustard or bright red

    The description suggested that it might be part of a trial batch made by the Sterling company who made the famous WW2 sub-machine gun with a crackle finish. Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that this might be the case.

    I too have never heard of or seen a Webley factory produced 'crackle finish' Mk.I air pistol, but that doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist.
