    Nice! £450-550 in a box?

    Some different examples here.

Hi depending on the condition of the pistol and box it could be more, a lucky find indeed.

    Hi,

These are nice pistols which unfortunately only enjoyed a short production run during the late forties due to the overwhelming popularity of the Webley models. There were three main series, the first having wooden grips and a little button release for the cocking lever, the second and most common, having plain brown synthetic grips and the final variant also having brown, synthetic grips, but these now appearing with some chequering. There was also some variation in the finish that could be obtained with blue being the most common. The presence of the box and any associated paperwork will certainly add significantly to the value. Look forward to seeing some pictures.

A bit more about the Abas Major here: http://www.classicapa.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=562

    Regards

    Brian

It looks like someone took a casting of a Webley prewar Mk1 and added ABAS ?.
