Smile Sussex Interclub HFT 2016 - Round 1 Results

    Hi everyone

What a great start to the 2016 Sussex Interclub HFT series.

Big thanks to Ford HFT (Richard and the team) for setting out a course which would certainly have challenged – even without the strong easterly breeze.

Undoubtedly tricksy conditions for all except a very few, reflected in a strong turnout of 70 entries but with only 10 Gold badges won. Most of this has to be down to the exceptional score submitted by none other than Si, resplendent in his nearly Summer wear of trainers and shorts and allegedly sporting some sun cream. But even he was not totally confident as I’m sure I heard him say he was wearing two T-shirts. Whimp!

Here is the full set of results …..

Please let me know a.s.a.p. if you spot anything you think is amiss.

Prize drawer winners today were :

    • Colin Medway – the £35 cash prize, and
    • Lol Moore – the Air Arms goody bag

Team scores - now including (after a bit a very late 'negotiating') Maldon - today and points won are :
    Club Round 1 Points
    Oaks 273 12
    Meon Valley 269 11
    Buxted 267 10
    Horsham 254 9
    Ford 246 8
    Swallows 241 7
    Maldon 223 6
    Iden Fern 178 5

The above figures for both Maldon and Iden Fern reflect a shortfall in the number (5) required for a club team and both benefitted from the addition of some lucky-dip cards, up to a maximum of 3 cards as per the SIHFT rules.

That only leaves me to wish you all happy and safe shooting ahead of round 2 of the 2016 SIHFT, which is in three weeks’ time on the 1st May at Mile Oak.

In the meantime, best of luck to the crew heading in to deepest darkest Wales for round one of this year’s UKAHFT at Quarry.

Thanks everyone for making it such a good start to the season. Delighted to have found a bit of form for once

Well done Si, phenomenal knees and shooting!

    A few points on parking

Not bad for the start of the season, but a bit scrappy in places, I expect better for July

North is away from the sea, or the South if you prefer. The wind was Easterly today so North is 90 degrees away from that.

Disappointed that I had to remind a veteran of these events which way was North(C'mon Sossidge)

Nice one Ford. A great start to the season.

Nice to see Beardie up at the top where he looks so handsome and a big well done to the Sussex Angus Young playing his real no wind BSA to perfection.

Just hope Lewis the Yokie had a real good runny time on the way home hopefully relieved(correct spelling) shot by shot by the new Master.

Yep bet that was a cracking time nice to see the famous concrete running thick with Oakie Gold.

Thanks to Richard and the rest of the Ford team - a cracking course, a fab day that was huge fun, and a great way to kick-off SIHFT 2016; disappointed that the predicted parking mayhem didn't come to pass ( I asked that rabble from Hampshire to do just ONE thing, just ONE thing.......I think we might have identified a MVAC "training requirement")

And not forgetting thanks due to Simmo - for his quiet word with me, gently highlighting my own training need; I owe you a beer, Andy.

so, SIHFT, what exactly does it stand for (this from a Manc)
